Da Beaver - Issue 2 P05
I’m bummed out about the polar bears! I love Polar bears, I don’t want them in my backyard, but I still think they’re awesome! It makes me sad to think of all the animals that will only be in zoos in my lifetime! : (
Have you seen the map of the shrinking Ice caps? The polar bears have no place to go!
Then I saw a depressing thing on the news about the de-forestation of the Amazon. I know it’s a BIG problem, but I’d put it out of mind, I can only handle so many Eco-problems at once. But seeing footage of how it’s all being taken down REALLY depresses me. I don’t have a solution, but I know we are messing things up by destroying all our natural resources.
So I’m in an eco funk! : (
Ok, 2d story!
This time around I’m going to try inking it all. I think it will give it a “tighter” look, and I’m happy with what I’ve done so far. So let me know what you think.
Also a new album came out today that is amazing!
It’s by Firewater and is called “the golden hour”
It’s like greenday and graceland put together. It’s Awesome!
Ok, so today we start a new story! This one is 13 pages!
In other potentially scary news.
Study: Warmer ocean water means less oxygen
Obviously this is just a study, bit I find the IDEA scary! I figure I can stand global warming, all the heat, and crazy weather, but lack of oxygen seems like a REAL problem. This is part of what killed dinosaurs, or what made them shrink into birds. LACK of oxygen.
My favorite Jurassic park “reality” it that even if we COULD clone and make a T-rex, it would be passed out all the time because they need MASSIVE amounts of oxygen!! That’s why they have such large nose. They need TONS of oxygen to keep those large bodies working!
Now you can see how my brain connects global warming and dinosaurs! : )
Alex,
This week will wrap up the first “Da Beaver” story! I’ve got another one almost ready for next week! I have to go put my recycling out for pick tomorrow.
Oh I am excited for earth day! We have many neat events going on in my city. I distinctly remember my first earth day waaaayyy back in 86 or somewhere around there. I was in high school and it was at some collage. The thing that blew my mind the most was seeing a blue recycling truck. This was before they were really used. This truck has 3 bins one for paper, plastic and cardboard. I thought it was amazing. To have someone come around to our houses and pick up recycling was an amazing idea to me. I remember spending a lot of time looking at the truck and talking about it with my high school friends.
I am glad it’s common now, but it still is amazing to me.
Have a fun earth day!
